Localization
The Dão region is located in Beira Alta, in the north of Portugal. The geographical conditions there are excellent for wine production: the Serras do Caramulo, Montemuro, Buçaco and Estrela protect the vineyards from the influence of winds.

The Terroir
The 20,000 hectares of vineyards are mostly between 400 and 700 meters high and develop on schistose (in the south of the region) or shallow granitic soils.
Denomination and Climate
The Dão Controlled Denomination of Origin produces some of the best wines in Portugal.
The climatic conditions, the characteristics of the soil, and the choice of grape varieties, especially the Touriga Nacional, typical of this area, give Dão wines their inimitable ruby color, their delicate aroma and their velvety flavor.
The Wines
Dão wines are also characterized by the rare ability to age in a noble and harmonious way.
